The original application was used for day-to-day diabetes management, including carbohydrate counting, insulin dose calculation, blood glucose logging and reporting.
The original application was written in Visual Basic 5 in the late 1990s as a 16/32-bit Windows program.
It is preserved here purely as a historical artefact. It is not compatible with modern operating systems and is not expected to run usefully on current platforms.
The design concepts — meal modelling, insulin tracking, and time-series analysis — remain relevant, but the implementation itself is now obsolete.
The interesting part is not the code — it’s the model. The same underlying ideas now map directly onto modern glucose modelling and adaptive systems.
